RATIONALE:               To provide appropriate activities that practise, extend and consolidate classroom learning.

GRADE EXPECTATIONS

Kindergarten:           Activities to focus on home reading and sight words. A list of “Family Activities” to be provided to parents/guardians/caregivers to promote and develop oral language.

Year 1:                        Activities to focus on home reading and weekly spelling list.

Year 2:                        Activities to focus on home reading, weekly spelling list and maths.

Year 3/4:                   Homework will not be provided in the first/last week of the term and assessment week. Activities to focus on home reading, weekly spelling list and maths.

Year 5/6:                   Homework will not be provided in the first/last week of the term and assessment week. Activities to focus on daily reading, weekly spelling list and basic skills in maths. Research of cultural aspects may also occur.

GUIDELINES:              Homework will be set, marked and evaluated by class teachers and a record kept of student involvement.
